Sanju movie review!
Sanju - One man, many lives!
The much anticipated Raj kumar hirani’s latest flick, Sanju- a biopic of bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt hit the theatres this friday. Did it live upto the expectations of common man, who wants to know the enigma that has been surrounding him over years? Lets find out!
Story:
The film starts with Sanju (Ranbir kapoor) trying to find a person who can write his biography, while he prepares to surrender himself to jail in a month. In this process he meets a well established writer Winnie (Anushka sharma) who refuses to write his story, as he had a terrorist tag all over him. But eventually gives a nod after sanju recounts a piece of story which moves her. The director does not waste any time in depicting all the shades of sanju who had succumbed to drugs and alcohol at the tender age of 21. He also loses his paramour sonam kapoor as a result of his boorishness. How did he battle with this addiction; how he did he get into this menace of being called as a terrorist ; how did he tussle with the common people who judged him as terrorist and despised him is what this story is all about.
One cannot help but empathise with Sanjay Dutt, after watching the film. The dramatic and tumultous life which he led, beating all the odds makes the audience adore him. The film also focusses on depicting how the modern newspapers and media are publishing bogus and fallacious news. There is also decent humour incorporated now and then, which leaves you in splits. If you want to know the mystery surrounding Sanjay dutt and the events that transpired in his dramatic life - do not miss this spectale.
Performance:
Ranbir kapoor gave a top notch performance. The way he impersonated Sanjay dutt and pulled the character with ease is laudable. Paresh rawal (sanju’s father), Vicky kaushal(sanju’s best friend) did a commendable performance. Though Manisha koyirala (sanju’s mother) had a brief role, the impact that she has created is palpable. The rest of the artists also did a decent performance in whatever role they got.
Music:
The music and background score is excellent. Espescially the song “kar har maidan fateh” hits your chords and reverberates in your mind for a long time.
Direction:
The way Raj kumar hirani bravely and deftly handled the movie once again proves how good a director he is!
